A schedule for your next fair. It is a suggestion, not a rule – what matters is the order: structure first, then exhibitors, then plans, print last.
| When | Task |
|---|---|
| 8 weeks before | Set up the plugin, create the event, build types, categories and locations. |
| 6 weeks before | Collect exhibitor data and import it by CSV with a target event. |
| 5 weeks before | Publish the directory page – with booth information hidden globally if needed. |
| 4 weeks before | Attach the SVG hall plans to the event, match IDs with booth IDs, create the hall plan page. |
| 3 weeks before | Complete logos, galleries, descriptions and contact details; decide on featured exhibitors. |
| 2 weeks before | Clear the dashboard: all audit tiles at zero. Show booth information. |
| 1 week before | Print the exhibitor list for the fair guide and the booth signs. |
| During the fair | Change last-minute moves and cancellations in the Mass Editor – directory, plan and detail pages are correct immediately. |
| After the fair | CSV export and settings backup as an archive, evaluate favorite counts in the dashboard. |
Tick off before launch
- Every exhibitor is assigned to the event and has a booth ID and location.
- The page with
[event_exhibitor_list]shows all entries; the filters contain only sensible values. - A click on every booth area opens the right info sheet.
- “View on map” jumps to the right booth.
- Detail pages open without “Page not found”.
- A current CSV export is ready as a backup.
Half the work
is preparation, the other half is the dashboard. Setting up types, categories and locations cleanly once saves you a hundred individual corrections.
