Each exhibitor can have exactly one country. The flag appears in the detail view, the info sheet and optionally in the country filter. 250 flags ship with the plugin – nothing comes from third-party servers.
Creating a country
- 1Enter a name freely
e.g. “Germany”, “Austria” or “United States” – in your guests’ language.
- 2Country code (ISO)
The two-letter ISO 3166-1 code, e.g.
DE,AT,CH. Only this code decides which flag appears. - 3Check
In the list, the “Flag / Code” column shows whether everything is right. If the code is missing, it says “not set”.
Countries are the only one of the five lists without sub-levels; so there is no “Parent” field here.
Countries via import
The CSV has the columns Country and Country_Code. One of them is enough: if the code is missing, the plugin derives it from the country name – and the name from the code. Missing countries are created. A code you set by hand is never overwritten.
In the front end
- Detail view: badge with flag and country name.
- “All Countries” filter: with a flag per entry; appears if “Country” is switched on under Settings → Functions & Defaults or with
filter_country="true". - API: the
countryfilter understands IDs, slugs and ISO codes (country=DE,AT).
The list of country names and codes can be adjusted with the eem_country_list filter.
