Exhibitor Manager DOCS & HELP

Shapes, Walkways, Symbols & Info Cards

Beyond rooms and booths, the designer knows shapes, walkways, arrows, stairs and elevators with floor links, 69 symbols, info cards for the overview and location points with QR codes. This article shows what each element does in the published plan.

Fair Hall A in the designer: info card with banner, booths with logos, stairs and elevator to the gallery, location point at the entrance.

Shapes

Booth, room, area and overlay card come as a rectangle and as a free shape. Under Shape you can choose rectangle, circle, oval, triangle, right-angled triangle, semicircle and half oval. “Convert to free shape” turns any shape into points; then every edge can be moved and bent at the round handle next to its middle. Alt+click on the handle makes the edge straight again, “Make all edges straight” does it for all.

Booths: number, name, logo

The logo is the exhibitor’s featured image. You set logo size and logo rotation, and you can move it with the mouse. The published plan only shows published exhibitors; names and logos are taken over when saving – if an exhibitor is renamed elsewhere, save the plan again.

Walls, doors, walkways, arrows

  • Wall / line with any number of bends. Under “Arrowheads”: None (line), At the end or At both ends – for routes and one-way rules.
  • Door, Double door, Passage (opening) and Emergency exit door: click on a wall, they align themselves. Emergency exits are green.
  • Walkway: a wide line with rounded ends for grounds and parks; place points, double-click or Enter finishes.
  • Triangle arrow right, down, left or up – as a single wayfinding sign.

Stairs, elevators and floor links

Stairs (drag a rectangle, the steps run lengthwise, arrow with or against the running direction) and Elevator (rectangle, or click for 2.2 × 2.2 m, with diagonal cross and arrows up/down) have the field Link to floor / map in their properties. Clicking them in the published plan opens a notice “Switch to …” with the target floor. Rooms and areas have the same field – for example for a passage into the annex.

Buildings and floors

Click on an empty spot and the properties show the floor. Two fields are meant for campus and fairground plans:

FieldEffect
Building / Hall nameCopied as the building into the event’s map row when saving. Several floors of one building carry the same name.
Floor level / level numberCopied as the floor into the map row when saving – as a whole number, e.g. 0 for the ground floor, 1 or −1. The floor selector in the front end sorts by it.

The designer transfers both fields on every save, empty ones too. So maintain the building and floor of a designer floor here, not in the event’s map row.

In a campus site plan, a room or area with Campus building hotspot becomes a building link: a click in the published plan opens that building’s plan. More under Map modes.

Symbols

The Symbol tool offers 56 pictograms – from WC, baby care, first aid and AED through information, wardrobe and cashier to stage, escalator, bus and charging station. Site objects holds 13 objects such as trees, fountains, benches, lamps and fences. The symbols feed the quick filters of the map search (see Search & quick filters).

Overlay cards (info cards)

An overlay card lies over a whole hall in the overview and disappears when zooming in. Ideal for fairs with many halls.

FieldEffect
Hall title (large)Centred title, font size selectable
Topics / tagsOne to three lines below the title
Notice bannerOne or more lines, e.g. “Reading 11:00” – floating above the hall with an arrow down or inside the top of the hall, colour and size selectable
Overview opacityHow much the card covers the booths underneath
Zoom fade thresholdStandard (from zoom 1.25×), Later (1.50×) or Earlier (1.15×)
Click action in overviewEffect in the published plan
Zoom in & center hall (Recommended)A click zooms into the hall until the booths appear.
Open hall tab (Hybrid mode)A click opens the hall’s plan. Set the target below: “Link to floor / map” or “Campus building hotspot” with a target building.
No click actionThe card does not react to clicks.

Layers

The Layers tab shows nine layers: Hall Overlays / Cards, Location points (invisible), Symbols & images, Texts, Booths, Walls, doors & stairs, Rooms & areas, Drawing (original) and Underlay. Each can be shown, hidden or locked; hidden or locked layers can’t be selected. All layers except the underlay appear in the published plan.

Export

In the ☰ menu: floor as PNG, floor as SVG (vector, scale 1:100 – for print shops and graphics programs), print or save as PDF, and the booth list as CSV. “Location points in PNG/SVG/print” shows the otherwise invisible location points in these exports.
