Is your website built with Typo3, Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, Joomla or as a static site? Your hall plan and exhibitor list can still appear there. WordPress then runs in the background as your hub, and your existing website stays as it is. No relaunch needed.
Full-screen pages, embedding and the public API are part of the PRO plan. The Hall Plan Designer is a separate add-on.
How to set it up
- 1Create a subdomain
Install WordPress on its own subdomain, for example
program.your-event.com. Your main site is not affected. The subdomain needs an SSL certificate, otherwise the browser blocks embedding on an https page. - 2Activate the plugin and add your data
Install the plugin, activate your license and enter your exhibitors or import them via CSV. Create the event with its hall plan, it appears on the full-screen pages.
- 3Check the address
Open
https://program.your-event.com/?eem_map. This is the full-screen page your visitors see. Set its look and colors under Settings → Full-screen & App. - 4Embed it
Link to the address, print a QR code or embed the page in your website as described below.
Embedding in your existing website
One line of HTML is enough. It works wherever you can insert your own HTML code or an iframe. The parameter eem_embed=1 hides the header and navigation bar so the page blends into your website.
<iframe src="https://program.your-event.com/?eem_map&eem_embed=1" title="Hall plan" style="width:100%;height:800px;border:0" loading="lazy"></iframe>
Adjust the height with height. An iframe does not grow by itself: if the height is not enough, visitors scroll inside the frame.
These pages can be embedded
| Address | Page |
|---|---|
/?eem_map&eem_embed=1 | Hall plan of the current event, with search |
/?eem_list&eem_embed=1 | Exhibitor list |
/?eem_info&eem_embed=1 | Your own info page |
Add a number at the end to show a specific event, for example /?eem_map=123&eem_embed=1. The Shortcode Generator builds these addresses including a QR code, type “Link to the full-screen page”.
Other options
| Option | Use |
|---|---|
| Link or QR code | Open the full-screen page directly, on phones optionally with a navigation bar like in an app |
| Location points | QR codes on site open the full-screen map, see location points |
| App style | The full-screen pages can be set up as a PWA and added to the home screen |
| Your own applications | The public API delivers exhibitors and booths to your own apps or other systems |
Good to know
- License: it applies to the website where the plugin is active, in this case the subdomain. Embedding on your main site does not require another license.
- If you also use the Program Planner, install it on the same subdomain. Both plugins work together there.
- When embedded, the legal links are hidden as well, so the legal notice and privacy policy of your main site apply. For direct visits to the full-screen pages, enter the links under Full-screen & App.
- The full-screen pages do not appear in search engines. Your main site and the regular detail pages on the subdomain can be found.
The plugin itself does not block iframes. Usually a security plugin or the server on the subdomain sends an X-Frame-Options header or a Content-Security-Policy. Allow your main domain there. Also check that the address opens directly in the browser and that the PRO plan is active.
